Chicago

This past week I went with the art department on a trip to Chicago. We were only there for 2 days and I already want to go back. When you're with a group you have to follow their itinerary which is ok for the most part. That city is so packed with places to see that it really needs longer than the time we were allotted. I'll be ready to go back when it gets warmer. Talked to hubby about it and I think we're going to try and get up there this summer.

Upon arriving, we first visited the
Oriental Institute Museum and then made our way to the Museum of Contemporary Art. Our hotel for the night was the Congress Plaza Hotel. For dinner the first night, we went to Chinatown. It was pretty good. I don't care for conch. Didn't know that before the meal. The shrimp and scallops were very good though. The next morning we had time on our own before meeting up to go to the Art Institute of Chicago. I really enjoyed this museum. We also viewed the Edward Hopper and Winslow Homer exhibits.

My assignment for photography class was to take pictures at the lake front. The first day we were there it was fairly nice weather, but we didn't have time after check in and eat dinner too. So I put it off until the next day. We did have plenty of time to shoot two rolls of film, just didn't think that it would snow and freeze us silly. Yikes! I did get some decent shots though I think. We'll see when I print them tomorrow.

Here a blog, there a blog

I enjoy reading other peoples blogs so thought I'd start my own. Not sure what I'll write in here or who will actually read it, but here goes anyway. We're all getting ready to go to a family gathering and then I have to work later in the day.

What is my style of scrapbooking? I tend to lean toward things more simple. I do like embellishments on my pages but not too many. As for journaling... that's something that I need to work on. Alot of times I wait until later to journal when I really should do it right away. Looks like a goal to work on... journaling on the spot. I'm not working on any particular album at the moment. More or less flittering from subject to subject. I'm pretty much a flitterer! Is that a word? It is now!
